FAQ's

Common Customer Service Questions/Faults
Because all Clearwater collection baths are handmade and hand finished there may be small variations from the specifications. Here are a few questions answered.

You can't fit your feet
Have you received the feet instructions? Feet instructions go out with every set of feet.
The feet can come with either a circular hole or elongated slot to attach the bolt to the bath.
A pack consisting of 4 bolts, 8 washers and 4 spring washers accompany the feet. If you are having trouble with attaching the feet to the bath, i.e., the feet are moving away from the bath when tightening up or the feet feel loose, remove the foot and place a big blob of Silicone on the part where the foot and bath meet, hand tighten the bolt, wait for the silicone to dry and then tighten the bolt to the full amount. This will give extra adhesion between the foot and the bath.
It is advised that you paint cast iron feet before you fit them to your bath. A cellulose primer should be used as this will protect the feet from rusting. If the feet do get rusty use a wire brush to remove any loose rust. The feet can be cleaned using white spirit and a cloth. Prime the feet after this action.

Does the foot not line up with the bolt hole?
On the feet with circular hole it is possible to file the hole to fit the bolt hole in the bath.

Is the bath not level?
Is the floor you are putting your bath on level? If so you can use extra washers between the bath and the foot to pack out the distance.
To add extra hold to your bath you can place a blob of clear silicone between the foot and the floor.

Water leaking from feet
Because Clearwater Collection makes double skin baths, you should always seal the overflow and waste with a silicone type seal. If this has not been sealed water can get down the cavity of the two skins and find its way out of the feet.

Fixing the Soho and the Eros to the floor
Place the cradle in the position required. Draw around the four legs at the bottom and lift away. Place liquid nails or silicone in the drawn circles and replace the cradle. Leave to set.

No tap holes in the bath
If there are no tap holes in your bath follow these instructions.
Is your plumber confident to drill them? You will need a 35mm core drill.
Find the centre of your overflow (51mm diameter). Draw a line from the centre of the overflow to the top of the bath and on to the rim. The taps need to be 90mm either side of the line from your overflow (180mm centres), mark this position. Measure the thickness of the rim and mark the centre in line with the 180mm centres. Once these two marks are intersecting, you have got the required centre to start drilling.

Scratches and dents
Scratches and dents do tend to appear however you look after your bath. Clearwater Collection baths are made from acrylic which means if any scratches or light dents do come to focus, they can be rubbed out not to be seen again.
You must use 1200 grade wet and dry paper to take the scratches and dents out. Use a circular motion over the affected area. Once the scratch or dent has been removed wipe clean with a dry cloth. To buff up your bath we suggest a light compound such as T-Cut and a clean cotton cloth. Polish the affected area until the required glossy finish is achieved. Buff the whole bath up with a clean cloth.

Resin splashes on the bath
If you find any marks that look like fibre glass, these can be just flicked off and polished up.
